Red Square - April 2007
This was Les' second foray to Burlington, VT. It was a very well attended show with a great opening. Les received some unexpected promotion when a patron of Red Square tried to run off with one of her paintings. I guess you could call that an unorthodox form of admiration!

Most of what is in the "Recent Works" section was made for this show. These have all been sold except for "
Perpetual Adolesence
." However, there is a new display at the Koffee Kat with all new works.
This is the piece he tried to steal. It is called "Late Night Black Light."

About Les
Les grew up in Chateaugay, NY, 1 mile from the Canadian border. She lived and worked on her family's dairy farm until she graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a BA in English Literature. The visual arts crept into her life in subtle but persistent ways– jewelry, handmade cards, hand-painted T-shirts and commissions from friends. This eventually led to a larger body of work that resulted in a series of gallery shows beginning in 2002. Her work encompasses various mediums, sizes and themes, yet Les' style and edge are ever-present.
A Short CV
Since her artistic debut at the North Country Cultural Center (Plattsburgh) in 2002, Les Cosgrove has not allowed her creative paint to dry. She has displayed at the Council on the Arts for Clinton County, the Y-Gallery in Saranac Lake, The Gallery d'Arts Contemporains, Montreal, QC, the Lake Placid Center for the Arts North Gallery, and Regents in New York City. She has been featured in magazines – "While You Were Sleeping" (Feb/Mar 2004), "Montreal Serai" (1998-2001), and contributes to the Plattsburgh Press Republican as an illustrator.
She was a featured artist on the
Mountain Lake PBS show Art Express
in January 2003, and participated in her first gallery talk at the North Country Cultural Center to celebrate her October 2004 exhibit. The Koffee Kat in Plattsburgh, NY maintains a permanent, changing display of Les' paintings.
